Serving at Grace

God has specially created you to make a difference in the body of Christ. At Grace we believe that if you have made Christ your personal savior you have a role to play in the Church! The Church is not a building, but rather the people who make up the body of Christ. If you call Grace your church home, we’d love to have you join in our mission of being the church. We have several ministries that serve not only on Sunday mornings and in our church walls, but also to the community and nations around us. Click our Ministries tab at the top of our website to learn more and then click below to get connected to serve with us!

Sunday Morning Service Teams

  • Foyer Team - If you have a passion to make those that attend Grace for the first time feel like this is their home, then this is the ministry for you! The Foyer Team consists of greeters and Connection Desk volunteers. Greeters make sure everyone who walks through the door on Sunday morning feels welcome and noticed. Connection Desk volunteers help first-timers and others with any questions they may have about the ministries of the church.

  • Prayer Team - We know that the effectiveness of our ministry is based solely on the work of the Holy Spirit. That is why we have a team of people who dedicate themselves to praying together for our ministry during the duration of our Sunday morning services.

  • Ushers - Do you have a friendly smile? Help welcome people and assist them with finding seats for the service and handing out programs. Check out the Usher Guidelines here. If you're interested in serving as an usher, please contact Kyle at kyle@gccnewton.com.

  • Coffee Break - Nothing says welcome like a cup of coffee! We want to make our guests feel as welcome as possible! If you enjoy mingling and making coffee, this is the ministry for you!

  • Chauffeurs - Some people do not have a way to get to church on Sunday mornings. Help someone hear the Word by bringing them to Grace! If you're interested in serving as a chauffer, contact Kyle: kyle@gccnewton.com.

Grace Care Team

Grace Community Church wants to meet needs of the elderly shut-ins, people on our cancer prayer list, and new widows/widowers. The Grace Care Team serves these needs in a variety of ways:

  • Prayer Partners - Prayer partners make weekly contact to check on how they are, be a listening ear, and discern physical- or companionship- or spiritual needs. And, of course, they pray with the person.

  • Transportation Partners - Transportation partners help when an individual needs transportation to church or perhaps a medical appointment.

  • Meals and food gifts - When circumstances make it a short-term challenge for those in need to prepare meals for themselves, the Grace Care Team would organize and make meals. Perhaps there will be opportunity to make or bake something for a birthday or anniversary, or perhaps a holiday gift such as Christmas or Easter, based on appropriateness for individual's situation.

  • Home Improvement/Repair - The Grace Care Team can also organize and provide simple home repairs.
