growing in the dark
Growing in the Dark is a support group for women facing anxiety and depression. It meets monthly and strives to bring women together in community that understands each others' struggles with anxiety and depression. We want to foster a place where women can share freely, be known, and encourage each other to engage in the hard work of "struggling well." This includes techniques that help us to cope day-to-day and retrain our brains long-term. We also desperately want to help each other know Christ more and grow in our relationship with Him, who is the true Healer.
Growing in the Dark meets the 3rd Monday of the month, from 7:00-8:30PM in the Fireside Room at GCC. Registration not required.
Are you going through the painful experience of infertility? Have you had a miscarriage or child loss? Do you have a child with special needs? We have a team of women that would love to walk with you through this valley as we seek God together in the pain. For more info please contact Julie Friesen at email@example.com.
One of our key values in women's ministry is the instructions by Paul for an older woman to teach the younger women. Our mentoring ministry encourages and provides direction for anyone who wants to be involved in this kind of relationship, either as a mentor or as someone being mentored. Our model for mentoring is taken from 1 Thessalonians 2:7-8: "We loved you dearly. Not content to just pass on the Message, we wanted to give you our hearts. And we did...holding your hand, whispering encouragement, showing you step-by-step how to live well before God..." (MSG) For more info please contact Della Loewen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
