NHS Serve Week - September.jpg

New Hope Shelter offers sanctuary to those experiencing homelessness in Harvey, Marion, & McPherson counties and restores hope to them through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Several times a year, we take a week to reflect the love of God to these people by serving meals and spending time with the residents. If you are interested in volunteering during our upcoming serve week, contact Brandon Buerge at microflight@gmail.com or visit the sign up station on September 9 or 16.

Amigo 21 registration deadline

Amigo 21.jpg

We are assembling the team for our Amigo 21 family mission trip to Children's Haven International in Reynosa, Mexico!

Our purpose to love God, love people, and lead others to do the same is both a local- and a global mission. We have a 20 year legacy of going as families to serve the ministry of Children's Haven International and now is the time for you to join for year 21.

This trip is a great way to put your faith into action and apply the Great Commission of Jesus outside of our “Jerusalem” as we

  • use our hands and feet (repairing and remodeling)
  • share our lives and the gospel with the children and staff
  • experience life in another culture
  • deepen our interaction with each other
  • get to know the Lord more intimately

Investing a week in service to those whom God cares deeply about will stretch us, give us a new appreciation for how much we have, and encourage us by the joyful hospitality we receive.

You can find more information about schedule and cost on the brochure below. To register, fill out the form on the brochure and return to Pastor Steve Friesen in mailbox #178 by October 21, 2018.

Please pray about joining this adventure. We’d love to have you come along!

Friday, November 30, 4pm - Saturday, December 1, 9pm | Manhattan Christian College, Manhattan, KS

Oasis Middle School will be high energy, fun, while talking through topics relevant to Middle Schoolers. Our theme is SOAR, looking at how to trust in God's strength. In a culture that is increasingly hard to navigate and still follow Jesus, we want middle schoolers to be equipped to rise above - to soar - in the midst of the changes, challenges, pressures that are beginning to face them by leaning in on His power in us.

If you are interested in attending, tell Pastor Loren by filling out the I’m Interested form below. Then, download the registration and release form, fill it out, and return it to Pastor Loren.

August 17, 6:30-9:00pm; August 18, 8:00-11:00am | Activity Center

Inside every person there is a battle for the affections of their heart. During this conference, Mike Barter - pastor of Grace Community Fellowship and former GCC elder - will be speaking on the different areas (pleasure, power and love) that battle for a man’s attention and time. We will identify idols - and hopefully start tearing down the idols - that are keeping us from fully worshipping God.

The conference will start at 6:30pm on Friday evening with dinner, followed by sessions from 7-9pm. It will resume on Saturday morning with breakfast at 8:00am and sessions from 8:30-11:00am.

We will be collecting donations to help cover the cost of food.

Bring something to sit on, food to share, and your swim gear so that we can all enjoy the baptisms, a potluck meal, and free swim time.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved to our building. We will start with baptisms in the Worship Center at 5:30 and then move down to the Activity Center for the meal and fellowship afterward. It is our prayer that we are able to make this decision by Sunday morning.

You Matter More Than You Think (Women's Class)

Wednesdays, June 13 - July 18 (except July 4) | 6:30-8:00pm | Room 205

Psychologist Leslie Parrott has created a Bible Study to encourage Christian women in her video and workbook series entitled “You Matter More than You Think.” It’s a five week journey into revealing your value.

Many women are afraid to open up and share their struggles because we look around and think that everyone else has it all together.

In this video Bible study Leslie Parrott shares about her insecurities despite being a best-selling author, wife and mother of two sons. Leslie's on-screen teaching, the testimonies of other women plus the Bible study combine to communicate to women that even in the darkest of moments in life, YOUR LIFE REALLY DOES MATTER.

Please email Meaghan91483@gmail.com for a link to the $6 downloadable PDF workbook, made available through RightNow Media. Or, if you have an account with RightNow Media, please login and search the study to access the link to purchase/download the $6 PDF workbook.
