Executive Pastor

The role of the Executive Pastor (XP) is to assist the Elders and Lead Pastor in ensuring that the systems, practices, activities, policies, and strategic ministry objectives of the church are effectively and efficiently achieved. The XP supports and develops the pastoral staff and ministry leaders, aligning them with the GCC purpose and mission. The XP reports to the Lead Pastor, working closely with him and the Elder Board. This requires a firm understanding of, and agreement with, the GCC purpose, current missions, and core values.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Leadership
In conjunction with the Lead Pastor and Elder Board, the XP will support GCC’s strategic planning and staff coordination in execution of that plan. Help define strategic goals and vision as a key leader among staff and Elders. Assist the staff in developing new ministry programs.

Mentor/Developer Responsibilities
This is the role of supporting and equipping pastoral staff and ministry leaders to succeed.

Elder Board Liaison

Administration Oversight
Works closely with the Director of Administration (aka Office Manager) and the Stewardship Council as needed.

Other pastoral or administrative duties as needed (funerals, weddings, events, ministry opportunities, etc.)

Statement of Faith

All GCC staff members must agree to the Grace Community Church Statement of Faith.
