Our Values

These are the things that support, guide, and "flavor" the way we do church.

We value outreach, seeking to connect with spiritual seekers and support their journey toward a personal relationship with God, or growth in that relationship.

We value relevance - distinguishing between the function of the church (communicating the truth of the timeless, changeless Word of God) and its form or methodology, which must change with the changing needs of our culture - flexible methods, unchanging message.

We value teaching the Bible clearly, but in a non-threatening environment. We believe the catalyst for life change is the truth of the Word of God.

We value community. We believe life change comes through small groups, which we call Community Life groups at Grace.

We value servanthood, and celebrate people who serve through their unique giftedness, talents, and personality. We believe every person has a God-designed place of ministry.

We value authenticity. This produces an environment that accepts people the way they are, where they are in their spiritual pilgrimage. It's important to us to accept one another the way Jesus Christ has accepted us, rather than on heritage, ethnic background, or how people dress.

We value prayer. Corporate and individual prayer is the necessary base upon which we build the ministries that fulfuill our mission. Prayer and the power of God's Spirit enable us to move beyond human abilities and limitations.

We value excellence, believing that all we do as a church is a stewardship from God. Therefore, we are committed to excellence in all we do as a way to honor God. This does not mean that we will be the "best" or that we will never fail but that in whatever we do, we do it "wholeheartedly, as for the Lord rather thatn for men" (Colossians 3:23).

We value integrity in leadership, and therefore committed to the highest standards of integrity for staff and non-staff leadership as an example to the body. We embrace a shepherding model based on Psalm 78:72, "He shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart and guided them with his skillful hands."

While worship is woven into the fabric of a Christian's everyday life, we also value celebrative worship in our corporate gatherings through music and other means. Our music blends today's contemporary praise and worship music with the timeless hymns of the faith in a live, vibrant, and authentic clebration of our faith.
