AWANA is an international, Bible-centered children's ministry and youth ministry that we offer at Grace on Wednesday nights from 6:45-8:15 p.m., September through April, with our Awards Night being on the first Wednesday of May. Our goal is to come alongside parents to raise spiritual champions who know, love and serve Christ using integrated programs for ages 3 through Jr. High. The acronym Awana comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. Our local Awana missionaries are Mike and Kris Reed. You may contact them at their website, or at 316.283.0351.
Our Awana Commander is Joe Freud.
Cubbies is for children age 3 (prior to September of the club year) through pre-K. The Cubbies director is Cheryl Brunner.
Sparks is for children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. The Sparks Director is Kris Reed.
T&T (which stands for Truth & Training) is divided between girls and boys in 3rd grade through 6th grade. The T&T Girls' Director is Bobbie Friesen and the Boys' Director is Brian Loewen.
Trek is for youth in 7th-8th grade. At Grace, we offer an abbreviated Trek night. Trek meets from 6:30-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights. Following Trek, the youth go into the regular Jr. high youth group, which is called YAC (Youth After Christ), until 8:15 p.m. The Trek Directors are Paige Nachtigal and Shevette Koehn.
